Error 1 Save Script??

Right, you really need to figure out why it is not saving stuff before you start building the Palace again. Where is the Palace server installed, have you checked if the Palace.Pat file (the script that holds all your room info) exists and is writable?

ISP stands for Internet Service Provider :)

The easiest way to connect to a Palace server on your own computer is using this address: 127.0.0.1 or just type localhost as address.

Make a couple of rooms, see if they stick. Not sure why the IP address would change at all just by keeping it open. What kind of network do you have? Is there a router, or another computer between the internet connection?

Info that is useful: operating system, type of computer, wireless or cabled network, type of network connection. etc. etc. :)

the palace server is installed under program files-communities.com-palace server. i didnt find palace.pat but i did find pserver.pat in communities.com-palaceserver-palace-psdata. i tried opening the .pat file but it brings me to a web page and says Windows does not recognize this file type and then it gives links to download pregrams that open .pat files but id rather not do that unless i need to.

my computer is a laptop and i usually access about 2 networks and it does the same thing with both. one of the networks is a local network that my computer picks up. so i basically run my computer from wireless unsecured networks.

Ah, right pserver.pat that is the right one. You can open this in notepad, if you ever edit anything in psever.pat make sure you only save it as ascii or plain text and with exactly that name: pserver.pat saving it with wordpad or any other word / text editor might add code that the Palace server can not read.

Opening the pserver.pat is a good way to check if things are written correctly to your server script. Check the permissions of this file to make sure it is not write only.

Using a wireless network might make it change IP, everytime it makes a new connection to the network it is possible you get a new Ip address. This will make it difficult for people to connect from outside. But I guess we will get to that later.

So I guess first thing to try is: create 3 new rooms, don't edit them yet and shut down the Palace. Then re-open to see if they are still there. The Gate will never be deleted, so the gate is not a proper check.
