Instant Palace need help please.

Hi all I'm new, hope you can help with this cause I've tried many things and lost alot of hair !

I got the instant palace from Heini and the update/Fix from Drake. I've configured like it's said in the readme file. Point to the link it is told and the java loads and pouf ! I get a error message each time. Tried to change parameters everywhere and still get this error message. I'm going on pserver v4.4 and 3.5 client. I would very much like to make this work if you could help me please. The readme file is not for dumdums like me hehehe...

Okay, I manage to get it running finally. But have two more bugs to fix.

1. The java interface that is in the appletdata resource folders don't show up at all. here is my parameter :<PARAM name=appletdata value=/palace/client/appletdata/>

2. Can't ear any sounds and don't download any sounds either. In the java console, however, I see that the sound is found and put in the temp folder....strange strange....

Hope someone will help me with this....

Hi again, seem nobody see's the post I make or you guys don't care....but I will post the messages anyways just incase someone sees it lollll

Instant Palace is running fine. I manage to make it work and my palace is on my pc. I had to put parameters in the two html files that was not mentionned here to make it run. I will post a new readme file if people ask it.

Last question : is there a way to change de color of the interface beside changing the menu pics ?? like the background color, etc. It is gray and I don't like it, I would like to change it. I've tried the parameter <PARAM name=bgcolor value="#000000"> but nothing happens.

Hi,

Still having trouble with the sound? Sounds should be added through the sound list I think. As far as I can remember a soundlist text file should be added to the media folder.

The background color for the instant Palace client is the one you tried to change, this is just the inerface color when nothing shows up i think. The Page background color is just basic HTML page property stuff.

If you got a WYSIWYG editor you can actually edit the Instant Palace page in it, just make sure you don't change any of the java applet stuff (yes stating the obvious hee hee) YOu can add pictures, links whatever you like just as any normal HTML page.

and you're right, we don't care or have real lives :P

My Fix is a fix for a Linux server.
Not tested with a Windows server 4.4.
( The Windows server files are not in the same places. So you must edit the 3 files... )

So, thanks for your post, it will be good to post a readme file for the server 4.4 in a home hosting...
