backgrounds won't show

new palace.. one of many i've worked on/co-owned..
none of the backgrounds show..
i've checked spelling and location under ftp.. i've checked the pat file.. i've renamed rooms, changed case on the file names , started a room from scratch with no code in it.. etc.. still all black and no backgrounds
other media, such as songs and props used in doors (such as the note symbol for a music list door), they all work and download as normal..
my partner started the project (i came to it days later) and she can see the backgrounds.. i can't.. but i can go to new rooms at other palaces and they download and show up as they always have..

any ideas anyone? thanks, andrew

extra info.. had a visitor come look.. they can't see them either.. put the gate pic in the right folder on my pc.. it still won't bring it up

Have you tried copy pasting the file name to the room picname?

Can your partner download new room pictures?

Good idea to see if your partner can download. Did you check the media folder location with the 'fileserver command? It can help if you copy/ paste location, file name and any other text string. One time I had typed in the exact name, but the picture didn't show up until I copy pasted the name from the file. Despite the fact there was no difference between them. Very weird beast this Palace.

When you are all set and done don't forget to submit your Palace to the Palace directory :) Any Palace Planet user can!

hi.. my partner who set up the rooms initially could see them.. at first.. but when we changed a couple, she couldn't.. yes, tried the copy paste thing.. also had a complete stranger come and look see.. she couldn't see them either.. the host admin came online a few hrs ago and told us that because palace is a weird animal, we need to state the file names in "room info" as whatever.gif, even though they're uploaded as whatever.jpg... that worked.. and when they download, the log even says, downloading whatever.jpg which i find really odd.. lol.. i've never had to do that before.. she also got us to do the 'fileserver command.. it's working, but having to state them as gif files is terribly odd.. thanks guys for your assistance

Well glad its working but really odd, using .gif never helped me fix anything like this.
Its not a real problem unless you use Instant Palace, this needs roompics to be named exactly like the files.

Have you tried to do a new .jpg room pic name since just out of curiosity?
