Sorry if I keep reviving old posts. I think I'll move my comments regarding OP to the new OP forums next time.
I was just wondering if there are still plans of implementing JavaScript for OpenPalace. I think that would be great. I know JavaScript, and it is definitely much easier to work with than IptScrae. Even if I have to wait until higher-priority features are added first, I'd like to see this coming true. Another feature that I have always dreamed about, is having the ability to somehow read, write, update and remove data from a database (MySQL, for example?), from within the Palace Server. This would open a whole new world of possibilities for Palace-based chat applications, and make using plugins such as IptStats unnecessary.
A good example of how I could implement this in my own server is to allow its users to see their palace-related usage statistics displayed on their profiles in a community message board that I will be creating. Or, if I choose to add a virtual currency system, allow them to make transactions from both the website and the palace, and allow them to check their balance in a web interface as well.
Either way, I'm really excited about OpenPalace, and I truly believe that the Web is The Palace's future. You know that the Web is being seriously considered as a platform for all kinds of applications now.
Back on topic, though... Has anybody thought of creating a Palace fan page or group on Facebook? I think that is another strategy that we could try. You know how powerful Facebook can be, as a marketing tool.
Oh, and here's another meta keyword that just crossed my mind: graphical chat. That term is being used a lot.
Additionally, Palace owners should consider submitting links to their servers' websites to the Open Directory Project, and other similar directories, under categories related to their niche/theme, and under categories related to chat, virtual worlds, communities and messaging, depending on the purpose and features of each server, of course.
