wow as soon as possible even because we usually take a holiday first just to make you wait??
Check: you probably have Java 1.5 installed, Instant Palace works with Java 1.5 but not with the new 1.6 like most people have on vista and with IE 7

just a note here, "most people" aren't using either vista or ie7. according to the statistics published by w3c ie7 rated third at 19.7%. ie6 is still top, at 37.3% followed closely by firefox at 34.0%.
the problem is likely ont inthe browser or the rte but in the configuration.

Most people don't have Internet Explorer 7. In fact, the most popular browser is still Internet Explorer 6 though its losing market share at a rapid clip now down to less than 75% (and that includes other versions of IE, including 7) with Firefox, Safari, and Opera gaining. I have Java 1.5 and IE 6 installed on my system but most people use probably either Firefox or IE 6 with Java 1.6 because they upgrade their Java when told to do so. I'm refusing the upgrade, thank you very much, Sun Microsystems. :)
The Campus' InstantPalace is working fine, we're using the latest build that Heini(tm) has produced wonderfully for us. You can test it out at:
http://www.thecampus.org/client/
If you're on Java 1.6, it'll work but some gif backgrounds won't load if you're on a PC. On Java 1.5 or a Mac, all backgrounds will load. It's the most bizarre thing and Heini is aware.
I've never heard of InstantPalace crashing though. Is it crashing the browser or is the server crashing? What do you mean? Please elaborate.
Cheers,
Doug

If you're behind a router, make sure the tunneling port (I set mine to 80) for InstantPalace, the Palace port (likely 9998), and the media server port (80 or 9990, most likely) are unblocked and routed correctly to your server hosting your PalaceServer or PersonalServer software. I'd also do the same with 9992 as there is some back-end connection to that port. :)
Hope that helps,
Doug

Please give us your exact setup and problem, to get instant Palace working you need:
- The Palace server and instant Palace hosted by the same computer
- Unless you want a headache this computer should be the first one connected to the internet.
- check the router / firewall in your ADSL / Cable modem and put this server in the DMZ (de-militarised Zone) so your modem firewall does not block it.
As for Staats, my server happens to have those for actual Palace users:
35% uses IE 7.0
37% uses IE 6.0
14% uses firefox
If there is a problem with Java there is a big chance your Instant Palace is not 1.6 compatible, unless someone uploads the latest heini build :P
