It's true, I have tried everything; read every post on the subject(which there seems to be quite a bit of them), read the site on connecting with dyndns, and talked to many people on the palace as well. Here is my specific case and if anyone can help me with getting my palace out there it would be greatly appreciated.
I have Verizon DSL, Westell 6600 modem with a 192. starting home port.
I went to the IP site and my external IP is 71.124.105.248. This IP is static im assuming because of my DSL connection.
I signed up at dyndns and created the address of chic.selfip.com. (This still does not work).
I am not behind any firewall in my connection settings and I have also updated my pserver.prefs to:

http://www.geocities.com/perfectangelica/media/"
The background images load fast enough with the geocities and its free so im not complaining. But I still cannot even log onto my own palace unless i use localhost:9998 or the 192.xxx.xxx:9998.
So now that I have tried everything what else is there left for me to try?? It is so frustrating. I ran many palaces in the past but they were through maniaserv and I would like to finally use my own server now that I have DSL.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I can help with other scripting questions and especially bg making but this is where I am lost.
