Please help: Can't connect to any palace.

I have had Palace 32 for years, recently started using Phalanx, about two - three weeks ago we had to re-format our computer.
I have downloaded Palace32, Phalanx, Palace chat and have also tried using the online chats but none of them have worked.
Palace 32 has the window that opens up reading "connection problems - firewall etc etc"

and Phalanx opens up with :
Winsock error 10013: The requested address is a broadcast address, but flag is not set
Not connected.
I have fiddled with the firewall, I have allowed Phalanx and the 9998 port on the firewall, and I have also disabled the firewalls but it still doesnt work.

I don't know what else to do, all suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

I am NOT the expert here :((( I actually know very little but since no one has responded to your post yet thought I would just share my experience when I tried to download Phalanx.

I could not get it to work, either, and I also had Palace32 on my computer. When I tried to go back to Palace32 after having Phalanx on my computer I noticed Palace32 was no longer working right for me, either!

No doubt it was just me doing something wrong or just not knowing how to fix it but I ended up having to remove BOTH Phalanx and Palace32 off my computer and just put back Palace32 for me to get it to work right.

I love Open Palace so I use that and just stick with Palace32 for authoring. Brian has done such a great job with Open Palace. I do get comments about not having a member avatar box on Open Palace where the avatars can be put on all in one piece instead of in pieces but hopefully Brian will get a member avatar box, sounds box, etc. soon as well as fix a few glitches.
