Is the site obsolete?

7 years of trying to help as many people as possible and asking everyone to help out. Not much luck, so is Palace Planet obsolete? Is it time to stop spending money on a community that doesn't care?

My Opinion

Well Maarten, i have had lots of help from this site when i started with my palace about 3 years ago, so i think this site have helped and can help others in the future.

I know it can be frustrating at time.. people only come here for help, you spend much time on a problem and sometimes they don't say thank you and are gone again. I think this is because of the kind of site you have.

My experience is that it is a bit the nature of most people on the internet to only think of personal gain and not showing much gratitude to the fact that you have spend very much time to make this site work all on your own. They take that for granted.

I have experienced this myself, however on my site i have lots of help but i think it is much less on your site because of the kind of site you have. I do however have experienced that some people like to give a hand.. but when they have to do actually someting they let you down.

Another problem is that 99% of the starting chats will be a failure because it is almost impossible to attract visitors when you start from scratch. Since msn is so common on every PC, the PalaceChats are not attractive anymore.. not for a nice chat anyway. I think most people realise this now so less people are starting a palacechat. My advantage was that i allready had a site with visitors and later did the chat in coorporation with another chat site which was well-known in the past.

You can't change the way people think and act, so it is your choice to accept it the way it is, our quit when you think it is not worth all that trouble and money.
